Transfesa has been synonymous with integrated logistics services for rail and road for some 70 years. One of its core areas today is automotive logistics with supply chains throughout Europe.
The Spanish national company of DB Cargo is a joint venture of Spain's national railway RENFE (23%) and Deutsche Bahn (77%). It is headquartered in Madrid and has transportation and logistics operations throughout Europe, making it an ideal partner for DB Cargo.
Transfesa has the largest fleet of freight wagons that can be changed between the standard European gauge and the Iberian broad gauge at the French-Spanish border. The transnational automotive industry has benefited a great deal from this, with Transfesa expanding its market share of car transports in Spain to 25.41% in 2013.
