 Ordering: one click is all you need

link2rail represents a major step towards the digitalisation of services at DB Cargo, so we are dedicating a short series of articles to it in the railways newsletter. Today's article explains how the Order function makes it easier to use and keep track of procurement processes.

Similar to online shopping, you can use your Internet browser to access link2rail and place your order. As soon as you finish, DB Cargo gets to work preparing your consignment.

You will benefit from link2rail's single sign-on system, which makes all of the platform's functions available to you after just one log-in. Easy input forms and copy and paste functions help to reduce manual data entry while improving data quality. At the touch of a button, you can automatically create separate consignment notes for each wagon when placing a multi-wagon order.

The user interface is particularly easy to use can be customised to meet your individual needs. All of this means link2rail will give you easy access to your orders, reservations and order codes at all times. You can also add comments and documents to individual transactions, while the system's traffic light notifications will prevent you from ever accidentally overlooking steps in the process.

The check-in app for your smartphone lets you add the final details to preliminary orders right before trains depart. This does away with the need to manually input wagon numbers, making it much easier to finalise orders.
