link2rail – for the transport services of tomorrow

DB Cargo is pressing ahead with the digitalisation of its services.

DB Cargo has already launched a number of digital services, but certain things still have to be done by hand, while the digital options that are available are divided into a range of separate applications. That is now changing with link2rail – for you and our other customers, it will become the central hub for all of our digital services. This will allow us to support you in managing increasingly complex logistics chains.

The services range from order placement and empty wagon orders to tracking and tracing and invoice viewing – in whichever channel suits the customer best, either on the portal or via a direct interface. Moreover, we are constantly expanding the range of services in our link2rail portfolio.

The big benefit: you save time

Storable templates help you work faster and also maintain an overview if you need different types of wagons at different times, for example.

You can use the system’s clear structure to create and manage orders by yourself. link2rail also helps you to reduce the need for repetitive manual input and uses traffic light notifications to remind you of actions that you need to perform.

With intelligent processing of status information, the track and trace function offers transparency from a single source of truth on the status of shipments. GPS location information can be added to this view.

link2rail – in your company’s software and on mobile end devices

If you need support from us, our experts will be only too happy to help you integrate link2rail in your in-house software by means of a programmable interface (API). This will substantially reduce your employees’ workload.

In addition, customisable dashboards for smartphones and tablets can be used to show concise reports about your transports. The key thing about these reports is that they are linked directly with the source data and updated simultaneously whenever this data is changed. Thanks to this, all users see exactly the same information at any given time. Mobile end devices can be used for completing preliminary orders, while a scan function saves time and reduces the need to input details manually.

How you can get link2rail

If you already use digital services from DB Cargo such as Rail Service Online (RSO) or myRailportal, simply contact your customer support agent about migrating to link2rail. Otherwise, get in touch with our service team for new customers – they will tell you everything you need to know about using link2rail.

We have created an information video that describes the advantages and details of the new platform. Our next newsletter will take a close look at the track and trace function.
