Overview of functions

  • Display showing which wagon is where, including duration of stay and remaining loading period

Overview of functions

  • Standardised customer access to RFID & NFC on the freight wagon
  • Identification of wagon number at weighbridge and of wagon location on customer premises or track
  • Recording of the wagon sequence
  • Matching of wagon number and other data (e.g. load limit panel, load)

Why Wagon Data?

  • Automated wagon registration in place of error-prone manual processes
  • Optimised loading planning, e.g. through unique identification on the works premises
  • Maximisation of payload and avoidance of incorrect loading
  • Can be evaluated by all participants in rail freight traffic

Interface

  • The wagon number is recorded unambiguously by means of a stationary scanning system or mobile end device
  • Together we can evaluate and develop further applications and data connections

Excellent Track & Trace with telematics data

Track & Trace

Status: Already available


Overview of functions

  • Customers receive status reports on their consignment using telematics data and can view a transport history.
  • Alarm functions can be individually defined and configured, and deviations can be highlighted.

Why Track & Trace with telematics data?

  • Better information quality and density through telematics data at home and abroad
  • Single-source-of-truth - location information from different sources is consolidated, filtered and aggregated into a meaningful result
  • Higher transparency and increased efficiency - thanks to uniform and transparent data, follow-up processes can be organised efficiently

  • Registration in the link2rail online portal or direct connection via API

 

DB Cargo can also rely on the support of various European and national funding programs in its efforts to achieve more innovation and digitization in rail freight transport. The development activities focusing on the intelligent freight wagon are being recognized and successfully implemented in various funding projects. The majority of the funding comes from EU funding programs, in particular the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). In addition, funding projects are financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport as part of the federal program "Zukunft Schienengüterverkehr" (Future of Rail Freight Transport).
