Track & Trace: track your consignment's location with a single click

Track and trace allows you to access and manage information about the status of your consignments.

"If you know where you are, you can get where you want to be. But if you don't know where you are, you have to find yourself again." This saying is common among German pilots and explorers, but it also applies to the logistics sector. Customers often want to know where their freight is, if it will arrive on time, and if they need to intervene in a given situation.

DB Cargo has now launched link2rail, a system that provides reliable data for tracking and tracing deliveries. Link2rail creates an intelligent link between transport data and information from infrastructure managers, providing a solid basis for providing digital, integrated services such as consignment tracking.

Track & Trace provides you with status reports on your orders and shows you the route history of your consignments. You can use different criteria to search, sort and filter the information, which makes it easier to manage your logistics chain and reduces the workload on your employees.

Freight wagons feature sensors and telematics technology which enable DB to include GPS location data in the information provided to customers.

If you have any questions about link2rail, contact your customer support agent or the service team for new customers. Our promotional video gives you a closer look at how Track & Trace works. In the next edition of railways, we'll cover the features which make reservations and ordering easier.
