Article: DB Cargo France wins audience award at the Supply Chain Trophy
There is great excitement at DB Cargo France: the intermodal operator project carried out on behalf of Groupe Portmann for IKEA has won the audience award at the prestigious Nuit de la Supply in France. The Supply Chain Trophy recognises solutions that combine innovation and sustainability in logistics in a special way.
Lucky winners (from left to right): Melodie Mutel (former Communication and ESG at DB Cargo France), Louis-Félix Touron (Head of Management Board Office at DB Cargo France), Karine Lefebvre (Head of Intermodal transports at Groupe Portmann) and Jean-Michel Bauer (CEO at Groupe Portmann)
The award-winning project transports around 1.2 million pieces of furniture by rail every year. This not only enables DB Cargo France to keep CO₂ emissions low but also reduces road congestion by eliminating thousands of truck journeys. ‘Above all, this award is a recognition of the passion and commitment of all the teams who have supported the project from conception to operation,’ emphasises Louis-Félix Touron, Head of Management Board Office at DB Cargo France.
The award underlines the conviction that rail freight transport plays a key role in sustainable logistics and is already contributing to reducing CO₂ emissions with concrete solutions. The project was supported by numerous voices from the expert community, who honoured the commitment to responsible and sustainable mobility.
