Article: DB Cargo launches comprehensive realignment - reorganisation concept officially confirmed
Approved transformation plan paves the way for economically stable and European-oriented rail freight transport
DB Cargo is facing one of the biggest new starts for DB in its history. An external expert opinion has confirmed the reorganisation concept, which was approved by the EU Commission and the Management Board and Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn AG in March. This has created the basis for a comprehensive reorganisation - with a clear perspective of economic stability and a stronger position in the European market.
At the heart of the transformation are four strategic priorities: a consistent focus on European rail freight transport, the modernisation of single wagonload transport through new production structures, a comprehensive cost and productivity programme and a cultural change towards greater corporate responsibility.
Another key component of the realignment is the further development of operational processes through digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence. The aim is to increase control quality and make processes more efficient.
Despite the challenging framework conditions, DB Cargo is pursuing a clear objective: to position itself as a reliable, economically viable logistics partner for industry and business while securing long-term prospects for employees.
