Article: Slovakia-Shuttle: Fast. Direct. Sustainable.
DB Cargo connects Europe's industrial regions directly with the Slovakia Shuttle: from Žilina in Slovakia via Ostrava in the Czech Republic to Halle in Germany. The transit time? Just one day. Perfect for companies that rely on speed and sustainability - whether for metal products, pulp, consumer goods or palletised goods.
The shuttle runs seven times a week - from Tuesday Monday to Saturday - and connects seamlessly to the single wagonload network of partner railway ZSSK Cargo and the DB Cargo EV network in Halle. There are also connections to the Polish network via Ostrava.
More than just a direct connection
What makes it special: The shuttle uses conventional freight wagons and can also transport intermodal loading units on request. From Žilina in Slovakia, connections to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine are also possible. Pardubice in Czechia serves as a hub between the connections, linking further industries. The purchase of the new EffiShunter locomotive 744.191, which is equipped with a mobile ETCS module, will simplify local operations.
This makes the Slovakia Shuttle a real all-rounder for cross-border freight transport - fast, flexible and climate-friendly.
