DB Cargo Polska – part of the European railway network
DB Cargo Polska aims to become Poland's premium rail freight service provider – within a strong European DB Cargo network.
Being the premium provider of railway transport solutions in Poland means implementing a high-calibre strategy in order to offer high-quality services, ensure profitable growth, create an attractive working environment and guarantee environmental protection.
DB Cargo Polska S.A. was founded in 2009 as a result of the merger and acquisition of small and medium-sized companies, operating mainly in the coal transport services industry.
Thanks to its convenient geographical location, access to a seaport and operation of transhipment terminals, DB Cargo Polska offers forwarding and freight, transit, export and import services, both to and from the CIS countries (Russia, Belarus, etc.), the Baltic countries and other parts of Europe. Customers are offered comprehensive service from a single supplier.
The company is experienced in the transport of solid fuels, especially coal, but also liquid fuels and chemical products (including hazardous substances), steel products, construction materials, aggregates, slag, ash, industrial goods and consumer products, and shipments for the automotive industry. The company also transports containers and oversized cargo, accommodating customers' individual requirements.
By cooperating with DB Cargo Deutschland, DB Cargo Polska has developed a network of regular rail services offering transports in train sets, wagon groups and single wagons. The company operates three liner trains. The Silesia, Moravia, and Mazovia not only provide a perfect connection between Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland but also open up new prospects across the whole of Europe.
The wide range of services also includes siding services, which comprise rail siding transports, operation of traffic positions, loading and unloading points, and repairs and routine maintenance of the railway infrastructure.
Thanks to access to the seaport in Szczecin, which is an important element in the rail transport chain, DB Cargo Polska offers transportation not only between the port and the Polish hinterland, but also to and from the other countries in Central and Western Europe.
DB Cargo Polska provides logistic services on the westernmost point of the Broad Gauge Metallurgy Line in Sławków, where standard-gauge rails are connected with broad-gauge ones, and where two railway transport routes connecting Europe and Asia meet. The terminal operations include reloading and storing of goods, and also the complete handling of customs and transport documentation.
The company offers comprehensive rolling stock maintenance services including running and periodical repairs of the freight wagons and locomotives, regeneration of rolling stock components and repairs to historic vehicles. DB Cargo Polska is also a repair facility authorised by DB Cargo AG to perform running and periodical repairs to Class E, F and S wagons for Germany.
As a part of its services, DB Cargo Polska provides full technical advice and support in transport planning. The company ensures the selection of the most beneficial solutions that meet all expectations and specified requirements, simplifying complex and complicated transport systems.
