Article: Impressive insights and intensive dialogue: DB Cargo at transport logistic 2025
DB Cargo presented pioneering logistics solutions and new technological developments at transport logistic 2025.
The international logistics industry gathered at the world-renowned transport logistic trade fair in Munich, which took place this year from the 2nd to the 5th June. DB Cargo appeared as a strong partner in the logistics sector, this time without the usual large exhibition booth. Nevertheless, DB Cargo was prominently represented with a new approach.
Important divisions such as the Maritime combined transport sector with TFG Transfracht and DB Cargo Full Load Solutions (FLS) as well as DB Cargo Eurasia presented their customised logistics solutions at various locations. Particular emphasis was placed on logistics in seaport hinterland services and rail transport between Europe and Asia. DB Cargo Eurasia GmbH and TFG Transfracht presented their international transport services, the Albatross Express, at the GATEWAY HAMBURG exhibition booth. DB Cargo FLS, which specialises in intermodal door-to-door solutions for full truck loads, was represented at the joint booth of Internationale Bahnspedition (IBS).
Cargo sales colleagues from various industries were on site - from Steel, Continental Combined Transport, Liquids & Bulk and Automotive - and used the trade fair to meet their customers.

Panel discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) in the railway sector
On Wednesday, our CIO/CDO Arlene Bühler took part in a panel discussion organised by DVV Media-Verlag. The topic was: "Of human and artificial intelligence - how can we make rail transport more competitive in the logistics sector?" Arlene Bühler explained the added value and use of artificial intelligence in rail freight transport. When asked whether the industry had already reached the point where AI could be used on a large scale, she replied: "We are already using artificial intelligence at DB Cargo, for example in diagnostics or tracking wagons and locomotives throughout Europe. It is important that we always see artificial intelligence in harmony with human intelligence and do not want to replace it. For us, artificial intelligence is a way of relieving the burden on our employees by providing them with digital assistants."

New developments in rail freight transport
The Tanoos 2.0 bulk freight wagon for corrosive loads celebrated its trade fair premiere in the outdoor area. From the third quarter, the wagon will be used to transport fertiliser and salt for K+S. The first MEGC (Multiple Element Gas Container) for the safe transport of gaseous hydrogen was also on show. The MEGC was developed by DB Cargo BTT and other partners as part of a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. With an operating pressure of 500 bar, increased loading capacity and intelligent sensors, the container sets new standards in green logistics.
