European Parliament visits Munich North digital testing site

Dr Sigrid Nikutta welcomes a high-level delegation to the digital freight station

The digitalisation of rail freight transport is advancing in leaps and bounds, with key innovations such as digital automatic coupling set to make transporting freight by rail an even more appealing prospect. These technologies undergo years of development and testing before entering daily operation. Some of the innovations are currently being put through their paces at the Munich North digital testing site, Germany's first digital freight station, which welcomed a high-level delegation from the European Parliament on 2 November.
